The North Dakota Beekeepers were organized before 1900 by a sturdy group of North Dakotan's. Among the early leaders were members of founding families of American Beekeeping, including the Gunter family of Towner, North Dakota, representing multiple generations of state and national beekeeping leadership. Over the decades some of the most impactful members of American Beekeeping have served in the Association.
